Dr. Todd Morgan discusses active surveillance on WDIV-TV
1 in 8 men will face proatate cancer; why many men choose monitoring over treatment
Updated 3 months ago

Todd Morgan, M.D., was featured on WDIV-TV (Channel 4) in Detroit discussing why active surveillance is a good option for some men with prostate cancer.
“Treatments have an impact on urination, and they can have an impact on erectile function. That’s the rationale for active surveillance,” Morgan said. “We’re not saying you can leave here and never do any follow-up. It’s active. That means we’re getting some blood tests, we’re getting imaging with MRI, we’re going to repeat the biopsies at some point. When those tests change, then that’s the chance for us to say now is the time for treatment.”
