In-Person Visits

Virtual Visits
At the Weiser Center for Prostate Cancer, we understand that getting to the doctor can be tough sometimes. That’s why we offer virtual visits. It’s just like a regular doctor’s visit, but from your own home. Want to know how it works? Let’s take a look!
Scheduling Your Virtual Visit
To set up a virtual visit, call us at 734-647-8902 just like you would for an in-person appointment. Our friendly team will help you pick a day and time that works best for you. Just let them know you want a “virtual visit.” You can also make a return appointment online using the Patient Portal.
Getting Ready
Before your visit, make sure you have a computer or a phone with a camera and strong internet connection. People making a virtual visit must also have a MyUofMHealth patient portal account and appropriate apps/hardware. Test it to make sure everything works. You should also make a quiet space to sit where your doctor can see and hear you well.
For more details, visit Preparing for Your Video Visit.
During Your Visit
When it’s time for your visit, you’ll click a special link we give you. It takes you to a safe, private video call with your doctor. There, you can meet with your provider, just like in the doctor’s office.
After Your Visit
After your virtual visit, you can call our office or use the patient portal to ask more questions or schedule more visits.
Have more questions?
If making your first virtual visit feels a little intimidating, we are here to help. Our Virtual Care Support Team assists patients with varying technology skill levels to navigate video, including helping with device testing, app downloading, and video-call appointments.
Check out our Virtual Care Frequently Asked Questions, email HIM-PatientPortal@med.umich.edu (link sends e-mail) or call (734) 615-0872, during business hours, to speak with a patient portal representative.
