Giving Back
Philanthropy at The Weiser Center for Prostate Center
At the Weiser Center for Prostate Cancer, we have a broad vision of health and a comprehensive approach to prostate cancer care, emphasizing patient and family-centered care. We actively learn from our patients’ experiences and treat them as equal partners, customizing care to align with each patient’s values, preferences, and backgrounds. We include partners and caregivers as legitimate stakeholders in the care process.
Patient Support

We believe that when a person entrusts Michigan Medicine for their prostate cancer care, they will experience a world-class, individualized approach. The center will coalesce the full force of Michigan Medicine and the University of Michigan to take on this disease, and it will do so while putting patients and families at the heart of our efforts.
Research
Across the University of Michigan, researchers and clinicians are working together to develop the kinds of diagnostic tools, treatments, and interventions that give our patients hope. Our team is focused not only on earlier detection of prostate cancer, but on increasing our patients’ quality of life. With the help of philanthropic support, we are leading the charge to improve prostate cancer detection and treatment.
Help for Families

We know that a prostate cancer diagnosis affects everyone in the family. We provide support groups, counseling, and other resources to help families during this challenging time. We lead with empathy, respect each patient’s individual concerns and values, and foster a warm and receptive environment that includes the partner and caregiver in the process.
Building Hope

Philanthropy at the Weiser Center for Prostate Cancer is about sharing support and hope. Through our efforts, we try our best to create an environment where healing and understanding can be cultivated. There is still more work to do, and we hope that you, too, will be part of the ways in which we change the face of medicine and ensure that those impacted will find themselves on the other side of this disease feeling as healthy and whole as possible.
Our success will transform the care journey for patients and their loved ones — and bring us closer to a world free of suffering from prostate cancer.
