Medical Oncology Treatment Team
Medical oncologists are doctors who are integral to the care of patients with advanced cancer. These healthcare professionals possess extensive expertise in diagnosing and staging more advanced cancers, as well as in selecting and administering a range of medical treatments such as chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, and other targeted therapies.
Medical oncologists work closely with a team of other specialists, including urologists and radiation oncologists, to develop a comprehensive and personalized treatment plan for each patient.
They are deeply involved in monitoring the patient’s progress, managing any side effects of treatment, and providing supportive care to maintain the patient’s quality of life. Additionally, medical oncologists have expertise in cancer genetics and are at the forefront of research and clinical trials, offering patients access to the latest advancements in prostate cancer treatment.
