Joe Evans, MD

Dr Joseph Evans is originally from the Chicago suburbs, and attended the University of Iowa where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics. He then completed the MD-PhD program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, where his graduate studies focused on inhibitors of cell death in cancer cells. Dr Evans entered Radiation Oncology at University of Michigan where he completed Residency.

Clinically, Dr Evans sees and treats patients with gynecologic cancer, including brachytherapy, spine metastases, and benign diseases treated with radiation treatment, particularly Dupuytren’s disease.

Dr Evans is a physician leader in the department and the Rogel Cancer Center. He works with other faculty and staff leaders on clinical operations within the department and the interface with the Cancer Center, focusing on process improvement, quality metrics, financial stewardship, and strategy. His work streamlines workflows in the Electronic Medical Record (Epic) to improve patient care, patient experience, and clinician experience.
