Matthew S. Davenport, MD

Matthew (Matt) Davenport is the William Martel Collegiate Professor of Radiology, vice chair and service chief, and a clinical professor of urology; he serves as co-director for radiology and implementation.

He brings deep expertise in diagnosing prostate cancer with MRI, PET, and image-guided biopsy. Dr. Davenport served on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Medical Imaging Drugs Advisory Committee and was the founder of the Michigan Radiology Quality Collaborative.

When speaking about what this center means, Dr. Davenport says: “Health care should be designed from the patient’s point of view. This center will courageously place the patient at the center of our decision-making, and make Michigan Medicine the best place in the world for prostate cancer care.”
